Craptastic Fitness Demands a Spring Cleaning

I was bitchy. Moody. Even feeling a little evil. Almost had a meltdown, too.

“Well, what the hell was your freaking problem, Josie?”

Thank you for asking. It turns out my fitness was staring into the face of Craptastic. I wasn’t getting enough sleep awhile back, and it was causing me all sorts of problems.

I wanted to slap somebody, starting with all the stupid people. I wanted to drop kick the ice cream man in the throat for not driving down my street. I wanted to tell the husband, “wash your own damn clothes!” (might still do that), and I started to slightly not give a damn if I ate too much popcorn and other forms of tantalizing carbohydrates.

Did I mention I almost had a meltdown? All because I wasn’t getting enough sleep.

That’s Craptastic Fitness, ya’ll. You ever teeter on the lines of Craptastic?

I do possess a magical solution that healed me of this ailment. Spring Cleaning! You know, clear out the fitness cobwebs — get rid of shoddy tactics that aren’t working, but you haven’t changed yet. Spruce up the place a bit. Bring some freshness into your fitness so it doesn’t suffer instead. When summer gets here I don’t wanna hear you boo-hooing because your Craptastic ratio is still elevated.

Craptastic Fitness includes but is not limited to…

Not enough sleep. No change in fitness routine to keep the body guessing. Not pushing yourself to the next level.Too lazy to commit to anything beyond easy.Lack of improved food choices (at some point, you just gotta start doing better).Other people/things/situations always taking precedence over YOU.Other Craptastic stuff my brain cells can’t think of right now.

Got any fitness cobwebs hanging? Craptastic is NOT the hot look for summer, so take care of it right now while there’s still plenty of time. If you’re desperate for spring cleaning supplies I’ve got a crusty mop out back you can rent.

Lean Cuisine Fajita-Style Chicken Spring Rolls Review

Lean Cuisine Fajita-Style Chicken Spring Rolls

We have done MANY Lean Cuisine reviews, but LC is one company that's constantly adding new products & improving existing ones. Recently, the company let me know about the Lean Cuisine Fajita-Style Chicken Spring Rolls, and I was really stoked to review it. The description reads, "white meat" chipotle chicken, corn, black beans, bell peppers and onions.

NUTRITION FACTS
Serving Size: 3 spring rolls (113 grams)
Calories: 200
Total Fat: 7 grams, 11%
Saturated Fat: 1.5 grams, 7%
Sodium: 5800 mg, 24%
Carbohydrates: 20 grams
Fiber: 2 grams, 8%
Sugar: 3 grams
Protein: 15 grams

Let me tell you, when this first comes out of the microwave, the ends of the spring rolls are not a pretty sight of chicken, corn and onions. Instead it's like a blackened, congealed mass, and after microwaving, there are some oily patches on the "crisping sleeve". Nevertheless, if it's one thing I've learned - it's that sometimes the most unappetizing looking products taste the best (just check out Tasty Bite Madras Lentils Review). So I bit into a roll and was rewarded with a delicious, crispy, spring roll. I could taste the different textures of crunchy corn & chicken (which really didn't have a taste). It wasn't very spicy, but the more you eat, the more the spiciness comes out. Overall, I liked the taste BUT there is no way 1 serving is going to be a filling lunch or dinner. It's either eat both servings (2 serving come in a box) or pair 1 serving with something like Amy's Organic Fire Roasted Southwestern Vegetable Soup.

Each serving of 3 Lean Cuisine Fajita-Style Chicken Spring Rolls provides 200 calories, 7 grams of total fat, 1.5 grams of which is saturated (11% and 7% of the daily value), 580 mg of sodium (24% of the DV), 2 grams of fiber, 3 grams of sugars and 15 grams of protein. The ingredients list isn't too lengthy and has mostly recognizable ingredients.

I received sample of Lean Cuisine Fajita-Style Chicken Spring Rolls but they are widely available in the supermarket aisle, and it's usually on sale - anywhere from 2 or 3 for $10.00 I would buy this again, but definitely not to eat by itself. Similar products that are just as tasty include Trader Joe's Lemongrass Chicken Stix and Kahiki Naturals Vegetable Egg Rolls.
