…because the holidays just wouldn’t be the same without the redundant re-posting of this nostalgic blog-pic (circa 2010) around this time ohhh-year.
Let the Christmas cookies whoredom continue.
Dem’s is some good cookies, ya’ll.

Joe-Joe’s Vanilla Sammich Creme Cookies: Holla!! Best dang vanilla creme sammich cookie I ever chewed on. Every product at Trader Joe’s, including this here sammich cookie of wonderment, has no artificial crap, no GMO’s, no MSG, and no trans fats. It even has real vanilla bean specks in its creme center. You can taste the fine quality of the ingredients, which make this cookie high class compared to other vanilla cremes. But watch out for the high calorie count. Two cookies rakes in 130 calories of fattening that might stick your booty, thighs or stomachs. If you know some gremlin children who deserve a healthier cookie treat, then give them the Joe Joe’s. You can even have one cookie. But don’t you dare shove these into your food trap in mass quantities. You’ll be doing yourself a disservice of tasty destruction. Moderation only, please.

Yasso Frozen Greek Yogurt: Excuse me, but Yasso is a no-no. Great concept. Bad delivery. This frozen Greek pop is nicely oversized and low in calories, but the taste is so dang invisible and bland, even the Greedy Kids were searching for the flavor. Ever slurped on a watered down cup of Kool Aid? Ever drank a can of Pepsi with zero fizz? Ever poured a bowl of cereal, only to discover someone drank up all the damn milk? Yasso is among those kinds of food disasters. Something’s just…missing.

Trader Joe’s Shortcake Biscuits: Can you haz a biscuit? You bet your ass you can! …and you must. Just like the front of the bag says, shortcake biscuits are “wonderful with fresh fruit and whipped cream”. I did that ya’ll — fresh strawberries & a touch of TJ’s whipped cream on top. The biscuit might seem hard when you first grab it, but cut it open and you get a dense, moist biscuit with a perfect touch of sweetness that knows how to get the dessert-job done right. Now please sharpen the claws of your teeth and go gnaw on one of these for yourself.

I don’t have a lot of time tonight. I spent the whole evening writing up my Less-Sugar Sugar cookies recipe on GreenLiteBites. Click here to check it out.
Other than that, I thought I’d share a few links. I kept my food journal on the camera but to be honest, I’m too exhausted to prep the photos. I got up at 5:30AM to workout. Tuesday and Thursdays are my early days.
I didn’t post on Baby’s First Year today but this week I shared a video of Little Bean giggling and My Top 10 Baby Gifts for Under $20. I also posted on RoniNoone.com recently (it’s been awhile) about Blogger Confidence and PoopButterflies saw some action when I got all excited about a new planet discovery.
Other than that I’ve got nothing.
Ok, must go to bed. My eyes are getting heavy and if I try to stay up any later I’m going to start eating just to stay awake.
‘Night!
I’ve been doing a good job of keeping my food journal even though I haven’t been sharing it. Sorry, I got out of the habit. This weekend really through me off!
Anyway, I’ve been rocking the motivation lately. Not being perfect by any means, but I’m getting workouts in when I can(I have a schedule now and it makes it so much easier,) and I’ve been much more conscious of my food choices which has always been my ultimate goal.
Today started with an odd breakfast becuase I knew this guy all too well.
I finished his bowl of shredded wheat and had a yogurt cup.
Later in the morning I munched on some nuts while feeding kid #2.
For lunch I grabbed a bowl of leftovers.
This one is hard to explain. I have no recipe it was just something a whipped up the night before for dinner. It was whole wheat pasta, leftover sauce, kidney beans, corn and peppers. I called it Sante Fe pasta bowl and suprisingly the family ate it.
About an hour later the husband asked if I wanted to go to lunch. Even though I just ate I said yes becuase honestly, we haven’t been spending enough time togther. He’s been swamped at work with end of the year deadlines. Plus how could I pass up lunch with 2 of my boys…
How cute is that?!?
Since I already ate I decided on a bowl of soup. They had an amazing 15 bean soup. It was awesome!
I also had some of those fries. Of course!
A few hours later the Little Guy came home from school and we had a couple of our homemade Christmas cookies.
I can’t WAIT to share this recipe in GreenLiteBites! We are going to make them again and take photos. They came out so good the Little Guy crowned me "the queen of cookies."
Seriously. I’m not lying!
While making dinner I snacked on a few bites of Little Bean’s butter beans. He was having an appetizer before dinner.
Dinner was AMAZING. I made Dry Rubbed Pan-Fried London Broil, roasted broccoli and potatoes.
No complaints on that one from the husband. ;)
Instead of binging once the kids went to bed, I paused and consciosuly made a snack.
PopChips with Simple Cheesy Salsa. SO good! Click here for the recipe.
Right now I’m enjoying a cup of tea and one more of those cookies. I know. I know. Not the best thing before bed. I should have brushed my teeth!
I’m debating if I should weigh in tomorrow. I’ve been feeling pretty good and I’m not sure if I want the scale to mess it up. Why let it have the power to ruin my momentum?
After experiencing the delicious and nutritious sugar free Chocolite Protein Peanut Butter Bar, I decided to go through my stash and try another flavor. The Chocolite Protein Cookies N Cream Bar looked like just the thing to have after a long hard workout.
I opened the bar to taste it and found a nice milky chocolate flavor with a chewy texture, along with a caramel layer on the bottom that was delicious ... I wouldn't say that there was a cookies n cream flavor, but it was still tasty just the same.
Each 34 gram Chocolite Protein Cookies N Cream Bar is gluten- and sugar-free, and provides 95 calories, 3 grams of total fat, 2 grams of which is saturated, 9 grams of fiber, 4 grams of sugar alcohols plus 9 grams of protein and fiber (38% of the daily value). There is also a slew of vitamins and minerals (15-30% for each).
sponsorThe ingredients list starts with a protein blend of non-GMO Soy Protein Isolate and Whey Protein Isolate. These bars are available online at Netrition, $16.99 for a box with 16 bars (+ shipping).
Considering that fiber and protein account for more than 75% of the calories, this is a pretty good snack, and it's tasty too. BUT if something is described as having a "cookies n cream" flavor, then my taste buds start expecting that - and this just doesn't deliver on that promise. So for that reason, I prefer the Chocolite Protein Peanut Butter Bar.
