On my quest to go milk- and gluten-free this past week, I've found that my snack and nutrition bar options are quite limited. Some bars (like ThinkThin) are gluten-free but contain milk, and others are lactose-free but have gluten. What was I to do? Enter The Simply Bar, a company that advertises its products as being gluten-free, lactose-free, vegan, and low glycemic index.
NUTRITION FACTSServing Size: 1 bar (40 gram

One caveat: these bars are pretty expensive. I paid $2.49 for a Peanut Butter Chocolate flavor of The Simply Bar. As for the taste, it's simply fantastic. While these bars aren't as thick and big as some others, they are quite chewy and immensely satisfying. The all-natural ingredients make for a wonderful-tasting combination of chocolate and peanut butter and anyone else who is a fan of this combination will not be disappointed.
Each 40 gram bar provides 160 calories, 3 grams of fat, 1 gram of which is saturated (5% of the daily value), 1.5 grams of fiber, 10 grams of sugar and 16 grams of protein!
sponsorMore impressive than the nutritionals - hello 16 grams of protein - is the wholesome ingredients list. It includes, Soy Crisps (Non GMO soy protein, Tapioca starch, salt), Organic Agave Nectar, Organic Brown Rice Syrup, Peanut Butter, Organic Fair Trade Cocoa, Natural Flavor.
I much prefer the The Simply Bar (Peanut Butter Chocolate) to the Cocoa Coffee flavor, in fact, I wish I had bought more.
