Greedy Recipe! Tender, Juicy Turkey Burgers

A bun. The burger. With some ketchup slapped inside.

Turkey burgers aren’t exactly revolutionary. Mine may not look real fancy, but when this burger connects with your chewing-jaws, you’ll be like “knick-knack, paddy-whack, gimme more of dat!”

If you want a turkey burger that’s full of flavor and a tender, juicy sensation, then mix these ingredients into your ground turkey and cook it up like so…

TENDER, JUICY TURKEY BURGERS

Serves up to 7 greedy peoples

Ingredients

2 lbs ground turkey1/4 cup Italian seasoned panko bread crumbs1/4 cup minced onion flakes1 tbsp parsley flakes1 tbsp olive oilsprinklings of garlic powder, seasoned salt, black pepper, and salt (don’t be heavy-handed)

Directions

Add all ingredients to bowl (except for olive oil) and mix thoroughly. Be sure to crumble parsley flakes with your hands as you add it to the bowl.Heat pan to medium-high and add olive oil. While the oil heats, form burger into patties.Add patties to the pan with a few light splashes of water, then partially cover with lid to encourage steaminess. As water evaporates in the pan, add additional splashes to keep patties from sticking AND to encourage more steam. Keep pan partially covered. The steaming action and partially covered pan is the key to tender juiciness.Cook approximately 15 minutes total, flipping once during cooking. Patties are done when juices run clear.

This is a healthy meal that even your family will wanna sink their teefs into. It’s quick to make and pretty inexpensive. My side dish in the background is baked eggplant fries (Food Trap Alert coming soon for the tasty deets on those fries).

Now, GO! Eat. And be healthy.

SeaPak Shrimp Co. Salmon Burgers Review

SeaPak Shrimp Co. sent me a box of their (frozen) Salmon Burgers to try out. The description on their website left me intrigued ... "a different kind of burger," they say. "Our All-Natural Salmon Burgers are a great way to get a healthy dose of your Omega-3's - there are 680mg per serving! Plus, they have no additives or preservatives. Enjoy these perfectly seasoned burgers right off the grill or straight from your oven." Well since it's the middle of winter, there would be no grilling, and I opted to pan-sear 4 of these babies.

NUTRITION FACTS
Serving Size: 1 patty (91 grams)
Calories: 110
Total Fat: 5 grams, 7%
Saturated Fat: 1 gram, 4%
Sodium: 340 mg, 14%
Carbohydrates: 0 grams

Sugar: 0 grams
Protein: 16 grams

Oh my goodness these salmon burgers were amazing. The delicious characteristic salmon flavor is there, and it is well seasoned. I'm surprised to hear myself saying this, but my only slight criticism is that they were a bit too salty ... but the burgers were still delicious.

Each 91 gram Seapak Shrimp Co. Salmon Burger provides 110 calories, 5 grams of total fat, 1 gram of which is saturated (7% and 4% of the daily value), 340 mg cholesterol (12% of the DV), 340 mg sodium (12% of the DV), no fiber or sugars and 16 grams of protein.

The ingredients are salmon, water, contains 2% or less of autolyzed yeast extract, canola oil, garlic powder, garlic, grill flavor (from sunflower oil), lemon juice concentrate, natural food coloring (beet juice, citric acid), natural smoke flavor, onion powder, paprika, rosemary, salt, soybean oil, tapioca dextrin, white pepper.

The nutrition facts aren't bad at all - I was expecting more total fat, and this is an all-natural product. A box cost $4.69 at my local Wal-mart - but as I mentioned before, I received a box (with 4) from the company. Delicious and worth every penny. Trader Joes Salmon Burgers has less sodium, so if there is a TJs near you, check it out as well.
