Food Journal and Weekend Quote: Clean House

My house is a DISASTER. Seriously. It’s bad. WAY worse then normal and let me tell you normal is pretty cluttered. The pictures in this post don’t even do justice to the mess I have at the moment.

It’s time to clean. Not because I have to but becuase I WANT TO.

“There’s something about a clean house, a clean room. It does wonders for the psyche.”
-Brian Sansoni

I feel the disorganization is effecting my ability to relax and focus. As I sit in my messy living room, I find myself so overwhelmed I’m not sure what to do with myself.

I can’t start another week like this. As part of my Sensational Sunday tradition, tomorrow I’ll be cleaning house. I’m actually really looking forward to it.

As for today, I did nothing but spend time with the family. It was fabulous!

One the food front….

For breakfast I made a kale egg scramble.

I simply scrambled 2 eggs and an egg white with some onion, chopped kale and a tablespoon of bacon bits.

As a late morning snack I whipped up a green smoothie

…using a ripe pear, 1/2 of a frozen overripe banana and a crap load of spinach.

Lunch was a Poor Man’s Egg Salad Sandwich (click here for recipe) and a side of fresh, raw green beans.

Then I grabbed one of my experimental pink easter cupcakes.

I will be sharing the recipe on GreenLiteBites this week. It’s an interested one! Much like our Green Cupcake idea.

It was miserable out so this afternoon we took a family outing to the mall for some lego time and a family walk. I’m happy to say I’m 6/6 days on my walking challenge!

While at the mall we decided on a quick dinner at Subway.

I had my standard 6 inch ham/turkey on honey oat with tons of veggies, a small squirt of sweet onion teriyaki dressing and the dry spices. No cheese as I’m trying to lose. When I’m maintaining, I add it back in. On the side, a bag of baked chips and of course, a water. :)

I’m now ending my day with a bit of popcorn. I don’t buy the microwave stuff anymore. Instead I make my own with kernels in a brown paper bag like this. It’s cheaper and I can season anyway I like.

That was my saturday. I’ll be back tomorrow as I plan on making it a true Sensational Sunday.

By the way, I’m hoping to do more food journal posts like this. It just all depends on how tired I am at the end of the day. Little Bean has been keeping me up a bit and I have to steal sleep when I can. The days I don’t get to it you can still follow along on @RonisFood
