The taste of the Slim Fast Peanut Butter Crunch Time Snack Bar was amazingly delicious, but the size left a lot to be desired. And the same thing turned out to be true for the Slim Fast Chocolate Mint Snack Bar.

Slim Fast managed to provide a bar that was deliciously chewy, yet with a slightly airy, crunchy texture. It doesn't taste too sweet, and the mint touch is genius. A slight minty taste is left in your mouth even after you're finished chewing. The only drawback I could find is with the size. This bar is a tiny 23 grams. This can do nothing more than satisfy a craving for sweets ... and even then, I wouldn't eat this bar by itself. Maybe with a big steaming mug of Celestial Seasonings Original Indian Spice TeaHouse Chai.
Each 23 gram Slim Fast Chocolate Mint Snack Bar provides 100 calories, 3.5 grams of total fat, 2.5 grams of which is saturated fat (4% and 12% of the daily value), 3 grams of fiber, 1 gram of protein, 7 grams of sugars and less than 1 gram of sugar alcohols.

The ingredients list is lengthy and starts with sugar, and includes partially hydrogenated palm oil, artificial colors, sucralose and acesulfame K.
On the packaging, Slim Fast recommends 3 "nourishing" snacks per day, meaning Fruit, Veggies or a Slim Fast 100 calorie snack bar. Now, I'm not sure I would put this in the same category as fruits or veggies (to put it mildly), and if you compare the Slim Fast Chocolate Mint Snack Bar to 3 Musketeers Mint Dark Chocolate Bar, the calories, fat & saturated fat are similar, but this Slim Fast bar has less sugar.
I received product samples of Slim Fast Snack Bars from the company, but they cost about $3.25 per box of 6. I probably would not buy this again unless I'm really craving a sweet snack, and this is a lower calorie/ sugar/ fat option than something else that I would get.
