The Simply Bar (Cinnamon)

Lately I've been really into The Simply Bar. Sure, they're $2.59 per bar, but they taste delicious, are loaded with protein, and have only a few ingredients. Plus, they're gluten-free & dairy. I've tried (and liked) the Peanut Butter Chocolate flavor, and I was especially curious about the Cinnamon variety, so I picked one up to see what the deal was.

NUTRITION FACTS
Serving Size: 1 bar (40 grams)
Calories: 150
Total Fat: 2 grams, 4%
Saturated Fat: 0.5 grams, 1.5%
Sodium: 220, 8%
Carbohydrates: 16 grams
Fiber: 1 grams, 4%
Sugars: 10 grams
Protein: 18 grams

Basically, this tastes like a delicious mix between a Rice Krispy treat and a cinnamon raisin cookie ... yes, it's that good! The amount of cinnamon added is perfect - just even to give a detectable and pleasant flavor; and the raisins are a wonderful touch to give a pop of sweetness as well as textural intrigue. I thought I was eating dessert - all for just 150 calories! This bar is quite chewy which makes eating it take just that much longer (and makes it more satisfying, in my opinion).

Each 40 gram Cinnamon flavor of The Simply Bar provides 150 calories, 2 grams of fat, of which 0.5 grams is saturated), 1 gram of fiber, 10 grams of sugars and 18 grams of protein. The ingredients include, soy crisps (soy protein, tapioca starch, salt), organic agave nectar, organic brown rice syrup, organic canola oil, raisins, and natural flavor.

This is one of my favorite protein bars. Even my beloved NuGo Free Bars (also gluten-free), like the NuGo Free Carrot Cake Bar do not have as much protein - though they are just as tasty.
