I was working full time until the point of exhaustion when I stumbled into a grocery store looking to get a few things to stock in the dorm fridge. Lean Cuisine meals were on sale so the question was not whether to purchase some meals or not; the question was simply which variety sounded the most appealing? I picked up a few favorites, such as Butternut Squash Ravioli and Lean Cuisine Cheese Lasagna with Chicken Scaloppini as well as a few varieties I hadn't yet experienced, including the Lean Cuisine Linguine Carbonara.

Lean Cusine did a pretty decent job with this pasta Carbonara. Restaurant quality it might not be, but for a frozen meal that heats up in a few minutes, this is quite good. A plethora of little bacon crumbles are sprinkled throughout the dish and contribute to a distinct smoky background amongst the creamy and cheesy alfredo-like sauce. The sauce is fairly thick and there is just enough of it to perfectly coat each bountiful forkful of tender linguine. Peas and red peppers add not only a bit of crunch, but also a level of eye appeal that makes the dish that much more enjoyable.
sponsorEach 9.25 ounce Lean Cuisine Linguine Carbonara entree provides 300 calories, 8 grams of total fat, 2 grams of which is saturated fat (12% & 10% of the daily value), 590 mg of sodium (25% of the DV), 2 grams of fiber (8% of the DV), 4 grams of sugars and 14 grams of protein.
Looking at the ingredients list, it's not all natural by any means, but not too bad either - no partially hydrogenated oils. I paid $2.00 for this incredibly satisfying dish and was incredibly pleased with the result. Frozen meals can really come in handy some times, so it helps to know what's delicious, and easy on the calorie budget. Lean Cuisine Linguine Carbonara rocks, and is easily now one of my favorite LC meals.
