Metroelectro Micronutrient Water Review

Metroelectro Micronutrient Water

Metroelectro, produced by the makers of Metromint, is dubbed as an enhanced "micronutrient water" - there are no calories, no sweeteners, and no artificial ingredients. The only additions are zinc to boost one's immune system, antioxidants to protect cells from damage and electrolytes to replenish essential minerals.

Metroelectro tastes ust like good, old fashioned, water! Nothing different here, and I found it pleasantly refreshing. There are also no calories, and the ingredients are, "purified water, electrolytes (magnesium chloride, potassium bicarbonate, calcium chloride), zinc, antioxidants (sodium selenate: selenium)."

I was curious to know how much of each micronutrient was in Metroelectro, so I called Soma Beverages (the parent company of Metroelectro), and thanks to Brian (who provided excellent & efficient customer service) - I had the information in no time. There is 30 mg/L of magnesium chloride, potassium bicarbonate, calcium chloride, 0.059 mg/L of zinc, and 0.005 mg/L of selenium.

I received samples of Metroelectro from the company, but the suggested retail price range for each individual 16.9 oz. bottle is between $1.39 and $1.69. I would definitely buy this to chug on during a long run on the treadmill or after one of the many races I participate in. I like that it's basically a nutrient enhanced water, but the taste (or lack thereof) of water hasn't been messed with.
