Don’t ask me how but at 7 this morning I found myself continuously hitting next on the 10 Best Celeb Quotes this week feature from People.com. I’m not the biggest celebrity gossip person but lately I’ve been feeling really out of touch with pop culture. So I thought it would be fun to see what was happening in Hollywood.
After I rummaged through all the Charlie Sheen madness and this hysterical quote from P!nk…
“Out of Myself, Britney and Christina – didn’t everyone think I was gonna be the troublemaker? LOOK MA!!! NO CUFFS!”
– Pink, touting her shockingly squeaky clean image after fellow pop star Christina Aguilera’s arrest.
An Image of Katy Perry and Kate Moss filled my screen.

The quote,
"All I wanted was to look like Kate Moss. Little did I know…[my breasts] would come in handy someday."
– Katy Perry
Here’s a woman in the spotlight with seemingly all the confidence in the world and you are telling me that SHE had body image issues?
It didn’t surprise me one bit.
When I was younger all I wanted was matchstick arms, a flat belly and to be stick thin. My skinny friends wanted to be curvier. I was tall and and slouched trying to be shorter. My short friends envied my height. People with straight hair long to have some body and wave. Those with natural curl wish theirs was straight.
We always seem to want what we don’t have instead of embracing what we do.
Maybe it takes a little wisdom with age or experience to start and appreciate who WE are. I really wish I knew how to inject confidence and love of self in all people at a younger age.
For me the realization that everyone wants something they don’t have helps me silence the inner negatively just a little bit. It helps me realize that no matter who you are or what you look like, you have to work at loving you.
