It's Time To Crawl Out Of Your Cocoon Now

This isn’t about voluntarily oversleeping inside the cocoon that is your bed (I did that this morning). I’m talking about the cocoon of life, people – a world that’s safe, comfy and without much risk or extraordinary success – the familiar status quo.

The cocoon of life is where the average people dwell. They don’t do much, want much or think much for themselves. These cocooners might claim to want more out of life, but their actions are a dead giveaway that they’re really just bullsh!tting themselves. If it’s one thing I can’t stand is a liar, but a person who lies to his own self? Ohhh, that’s just ugly.

That’s not you is it?

When you dwell inside the cocoon way past the expiration date, your goals are really just frivolous pipe dreams, your promises to yourself are inaudible mumbo-jumbo, and your plans get put off forever.

If you’ve outgrown the cocoon, but refuse to break free and start living what you really want, you’re already going stagnant and unfulfilled – right this very second.

People can tap into the motivational concepts of goal setting and how to take action with bold ninja moves pretty much anywhere nowadays. It’s being preached a thousand different ways. You have access to it all over the place – online, in books, on a CD, in a Twitter’s tweet, blah, blah, blah. So why it is with a saturation of motivational messages, concepts and tools are there not more people living out their dreams and becoming successful at whatever they purpose to do?

Because they don’t really want it. If they did, they’d honker down and do what it takes. For anyone that needs a refresher in what it takes to live in an excellent way and accomplish your goals, here are some things you absolutely MUST do.

THINGS YOU ABSOLUTELY MUST DO.

Be Consistent: And by that, I don’t mean consistently lazy. In the first stages of consistency, you may not see much fruit for your efforts. It may not seem like it’s worth your time or effort, but keep at it anyway. There is a breaking point that comes with consistency, and that’s when things begin to take off. But starting and stopping, and starting again will not get you there. So quit doing that.Work Through Your Fears: This will take practice, but don’t be a punk about it. Force yourself to do very thing that scares the hell out of you if it’s required to get you where you need to be. Doing what makes you uncomfortable gets easier over time, and you might even find that you actually enjoy the very thing you thought you feared. Don’t run from it. Just do it.Work Harder / Do More: This is that good ‘ole fashion down and dirty, nitty-gritty hard work I’m talking about. You do know what I’m talking about, right?Sacrifice: You might need to sacrifice extra sleep, your lunch hour, a date night out, TV time – whatever it might be, it’s going to involve sacrifice.Clear Cut Vision with Direction: The cloudy dreams of “I want to be rich someday” or “I want to lose weight” are not visions. They’re barely even a hope if you do nothing but think and ponder all damn day. If you want to be rich someday or want to lose weight, or whatever it might be, then what steps will you commit to on a DAILY basis to get there? Break your vision down into small, executable tasks that move you closer to the exit of the cocoon every day. Make it happen.

…and there’s even more things you absolutely must do, but you get the idea, don’t you? What are you waiting for? Why are you still not taking action? Stop standing still. It’s time to crawl out of your cocoon.
