An Eye Opening Day

I’m loving my new food journal technique. Like I’ve said before, I’m a big fan of the food journal. I don’t think it matters how you keep it just that you do. Right now, snapping cheesy photos on my phone is working like a charm. It’s easy, integrated (I always have my phone) and I like seeing the food. There’s no cheating when you have a picture of it!

Today when I downloaded the photos it was quite eye opening. I knew I snacked a bit more than normal but seeing all the munching has made me a little more conscious. It’s also helping me not grab a handful of Doritos from the husband as he munches next to me on the couch. I already had my share of treats and it’s all here in photos…

After my first morning workout in forever (it totally ROCKED by the way) I came home and made myself eggs.

That’s a spinach egg rollup. Click here to see how I made them. Totally my new egg obsession.

I also had a few bites of The Little Guy’s leftover cereal.

I know it’s bad, but I couldn’t waste it, and I happen to love shredded wheat mushy. :)

After breakfast Little Bean and I ran a ton of errands. He didn’t make it…

One of the errands was a trip the store and I picked up something I forgot even existed.

Note: Notice the baby in the background. Click here for a crawling update on Baby’s First Year. The little bugger is everywhere!

The Little Guy tried one over Thanksgiving and said he liked them. So I thought I’d buy a few for his school lunches. I had to eat one because honestly, I forgot what they tasted like.

meh.

It was time for lunch and I decided on PIZZA! My own homemade of course.

I’ll be posting the recipe for 4 Cheese Spinach Flat Bread Pizza tomorrow on GreenLiteBites. I ran out of time tonight.

After the pizza I wanted something sweet. Instead of turning to the bag of chocolate chips in the pantry I have for baking WHICH have been calling my name, I grabbed a fruit snack.

It hit the spot.

When the baby woke up for nap I gave him a new teething biscuit I picked up because they were on sale. I tried one.

Little Guy came home from school and munched on some pretzels while doing his homework. Of course I had some too.

That’s 3 mehs today. I need to stop eating things that I don’t really like for no reason at all!

Dinner was pork loin, creamy mashed potatoes and mixed veggies.

After dinner we made our first batch of cookies for the holidays. We’ll be bringing them to my Grandma’s this weekend.

I had 5. Yes, 5. And honestly, it was hard to stop there. Warm cookies from the oven? Seriously? That doesn’t happen every day!

At least not in my house.

You know what does happen every day? The Husband snacking right next to me on the couch! Tonight it was Doritos. I almost had one which would have been half the bag before I knew so instead I did what I do…

It helped. No Doritos for me! :)
