Sometimes, Tasty Bite makes products that look ... doubtful ... but tastes so darn good, like the Tasty Bite Madras Lentils - that's what I was thinking when I looked at this Tasty Bite Kashmir Spinach. The box advertises the dish as "curried spinach sauteed with Paneer cheese", but it looks like green mush with a few chunks of cheese dispersed throughout - but that doesn't mean it tastes awful ... right?

Well, this wasn't as gross as you think it would be from the looks of it, but it wasn't that good either. It tastes like when something hasn't reduced enough yet - thin watery and salty. "Curried" they say - ha! This has a little spicy heat to it, but not enough to make it good, and curry this is NOT. There wasn't a whole lot of paneer cheese - and it didn't impart any flavor anyway. I used it as a kind of dip for the breaded Veggie Patch Chik'n Cutlets I was having for lunch and it was okay in a sort of - it's not making me gag and I paid for this, so I might as well have some of it - plus I need to eat enough to be able to write an accurate review. A little ramekin bowl was about all I could manage, and the rest went into the trash. I hate wasting food - but this had to go.

The good: Tasty Bite Kashmir Spinach is Kosher (dairy), vegetarian, gluten-free, contains no msg and no preservatives, and made using all natural and fresh ingredients. Also quick preparation in a microwave.
The bad: The taste ... but if I saw it for $0.50 and I was really strapped for cash, I would buy it and stomach it with some rice. If I saw it for $1.00 - I would leave it. And knowing what I know now, I certainly wouldn't have spent my hard earned $3.99 on this.
