2 Fun Personal Announcements RE: Weight Watchers

I really should be in bed but I’ve been wanting to share this news for days!

I landed my first Spokesperson job! ME? a Spokesperson. I’m scared, ecstatic and intrigued at the same time. I’m learning how this whole industry ticks and it’s utterly fascinating for this traditional worker bee.

Here’s the details… I’ve been asked to help on a campaign for Weight Watchers Ice cream. They are sending a camera crew to record a video at my house AND I’ll be doing a radio media tour in January! How fun is that?!? You guys KNOW how I feel about ice cream. ;)

I should note that Weight Watchers and Weight Watchers Ice Cream are two completely separate companies. They are NOT one in the same which actually brings me to my second announcement.

Apparently being honest does pay. I really thought Weight Watchers would want nothing to do with me after giving my initial opinions on the new program. I’m not one to hold anything back and I still have a lot of questions about PointsPlus. But as with anything, I’m willing to learn, experiment and give my thoughts. Apparently Weight Watchers is willing to listen. They have asked me to become an "Insider." According to them,

"The Insiders comprises a group of prominent bloggers who focus on health and lifestyle and have loyal readers who would appreciate hearing about the latest Weight Watchers news."

They are giving me access to eTools (I can’t wait to get in there and check it out!) and will be sending me news about the new PointsPlus program.

Weight Watchers really did help me change my life and I’ve been a fan of theirs for sometimes. I even applied to work there a few years ago. Not as a leader (although I would love to do that) but at a higher capacity. I’m not one to be a corporate minion so I’m probably better off on my own but I welcome the opportunity to work with companies in my niche, especially ones that have had such an impact on me personally.

So that’s it. That’s my big news. Nothing real earth shattering but exciting to me all the same. These are the kinds of opportunities I wouldn’t get to explore while working full time. I may not be bringing home a steady paycheck anymore but I’m happier spending more time at home and having fun working for myself.

OK, I need sleep. I have a breakfast date with a 5 year old. :)
