Weight Watchers Smart Ones Thin Crust Cheese Pizza Review

Weight Watchers Smart Ones Thin Crust Cheese Pizza

Weight Watchers Smart Ones Thin Crust Cheese Pizza is described as a blend of reduced fat cheeses with a tangy tomato sauce on a crispy-thin crust. There aren't too many "real" pizza substitutes that I've enjoyed, but this one looked good on the packaging, so I was anxious to try it.

NUTRITION FACTS
Serving Size: 1 pkg (124 grams)
Calories: 280
Total Fat: 9 grams, 13%
Saturated Fat: 3.5 grams, 17%
Sodium: 480 mg, 20%
Carbohydrates: 34 grams, 11%
Fiber: 4 grams, 15%
Sugars: 4 grams
Protein: 16 grams

Unfortunately, I ended up underwhelmed. Like they said over at The Impulsive Buy - this pizza is really sad looking. It vaguely resembles pizza that you're familiar with. It is a decent size though, and the taste is just so-so. It's not terrible, but there's not much deliciousness and ooey-gooey-ness to it - it's more like bread with a little something extra. As you can see from all the reviews of Weight Watchers products, there are many I enjoy, but this is not going in that category.

Each serving of Weight Watchers Smart Ones Thin Crust Cheese Pizza (7 Points) provides 280 calories, 9 grams of total fat, 3.5 grams of which is saturated (13% and 17% of the daily values), 480 mg of sodium, 4 grams of fibers and sugars as well as 16 grams of protein.

I received samples for review, but it's available for sale in supermarkets for between #2 - $3.00. Unfortunately, this is not one that I would buy again. Other similar products by Weight Watchers Smart Ones that I would reach for are Weight Watchers SmartOnes Artisan Creations Chicken Marinara with Mozzarella Cheese Grilled Flatbread and Weight Watchers Smart Ones Artisan Creations Stone Fired Crust Pizza (Pepperoni).

Weight Watchers Smart Ones Sesame Noodles with Vegetables (Classic Favorites) Review

Weight Watchers Smart Ones Sesame Noodles with Vegetables

Weight Watchers Smart Ones Sesame Noodles with Vegetables is described as having Lo Mein pasta, snap peas, broccoli, carrots & red peppers in sesame sauce. I followed the directions, heating this up int he microwave for 3 minutes, then pulling back the film and heating again for another minute. A quick stir of things and I had something that closely resembled the picture on the packaging.

NUTRITION FACTS
Serving Size: 1 pkg (255 grams)
Calories: 280
Total Fat: 2.5 grams, 4%
Saturated Fat: 0.5 grams, 3%
Sodium: 430mg, 18%
Carbohydrates: 55 grams, 18%
Fiber: 7 grams, 27%
Sugars: 14 grams
Protein: 10 grams

The overwhelming flavor of this meal is from the sweetness of the sauce. If you have a sweet tooth, trust me that this will take the edge of some of your cravings. All the components worked well together though, and I enjoyed the noodles & the mixed vegetables of which there was plenty. I don't know about you, but a frozen dinner alone is not enough to make a filling lunch, so to mine I added a side salad, an apple, a small container of yogurt and water - no sugary drinks necessary here. And that's still a little shy of 500 calories for a pretty tasty, filling meal.

Each packaged Weight Watchers Smart Ones Sesame Noodles with Vegetables meal provides 280 calories, a low 2.5 grams of total fat, 0.5 grams of which is saturated fat, 10 grams of protein, 7 grams of fiber and 14 grams of sugars. Each one also provides 7 PointsPlus Value. The ingredients list is not too bad, lengthy, but most of the ingredients are recognizable. There is "sucralose concentrate" which is an artificial sweetener, so if you're not into that, be forewarned - and this helps to explain why it's so sweet.

I purchased 1 for $2.50 - they were on sale, and I would buy this one again. It's not a "wow" meal, but it's good enough to make a tasty lunch.

Weight Watchers Giant Wildberry Sorbet & Ice Cream Bar Review

Weight Watchers Giant Wildberry Sorbet and Ice Cream Bar

I first got turned on to Weight Watchers Giant Ice Cream Bars when I reviewed the Giant Chocolate Cookies and Cream Bar. It's been a few years since then, but I recently came across Weight Watchers Giant Wildberry Sorbet & Ice Cream Bar. It's described as having, "luscious sorbet swirls ... a sweet and creamy treat that's sure to satisfy."

NUTRITION FACTS
Serving Size: 1 bar (102 grams)
Calories: 120
Total Fat: 0.5 grams, 1%
Saturated Fat: 0%
Sodium: 45 mg, 2%
Carbohydrates: 28 grams
Fiber: 4 grams, 15%
Sugars: 20 grams
Protein: 2 grams

This bar is just as good as the Cookies and Cream. It's a giant size frozen treat, which will take you quite a few minutes to get through - I suggest keeping handy a plate so you can put it down intermittently. The taste is just dreamy, creamy with a hint of tangy and sweet sorbet.

Each 102 gram Weight Watchers Giant Wildberry Sorbet & Ice Cream Bar provides 120 calories, 0.5 grams of total fat (1% of the daily value), no saturated fat, 4 grams of fiber (15% of the DV), 20 grams of sugars and 2 grams of protein.

The ingredients list starts is a little convoluted, and 20 grams of sugars is quite a bit for a snack, so save this for when you sweet tooth is making an appearance, and substitute it for other, more damaging treats. I bought a box with 6 bars cost $5.29 at my local grocery store, and it's a purchase I don't regret. I would buy this again - it is one of my favorite frozen novelties, because it's filling and 1 is enough to satisfy me.

Weight Watchers SmartOnes Artisan Creations Chicken Marinara with Mozzarella Cheese Grilled Flatbread Review

Weight Watchers SmartOnes Artisan Creations Chicken Marinara with Mozzarella Cheese Grilled Flatbread

Weight Watchers SmartOnes Artisan Creations Chicken Marinara with Mozzarella Cheese Grilled Flatbread is described on the box as, "grilled white meat chicken, fire-roasted bell peppers and onions, reduced fat mozzarella cheese with marinara sauce on a flatbread." Well, it looked appetizing, and so I decided to try it for lunch.

NUTRITION FACTS
Serving Size: 1 flatbread (170 grams)
Calories: 290
Total Fat: 6 grams, 9%
Saturated Fat: 1.5 grams, 7%
Sodium: 640 mg, 27%
Carbohydrates: 41 grams
Fiber: 3 grams, 10%
Sugars: 7 grams
Protein: 18 grams

I haven't been disappointed with a Weight Watchers SmartOnes Artisan Creations meal yet - having enjoyed the Stone Fired Pepperoni Crust Pizza (Review) and Southwestern Style Chicken Fiesta Grilled Flatbread (Review) - and this entree lived up to my expectations. WW really hit on a winning combination with a slightly sweet marinara sauce and the roasted bell peppers which I think was the star of the show - but the sauce was a close second. The chicken chunks were plentiful as well, but I think WW could make a delicious non-meat version of this as well (if they haven't done so already). I really enjoyed this for lunch, and it was $2.50 well spent.

Coupons.com

Each Weight Watchers SmartOnes Artisan Creations Chicken Marinara with Mozzarella Cheese Grilled Flatbread provides 290 calories, from 6 grams of total fat (9% of the daily value for saturated fat), 1.5 grams of saturated fat (7% of the DV), 640 mg sodium (27% of the DV), 3 grams of fiber (10% of the the DV), 7 grams of sugars and 18 grams of protein. It's also has 7 PointsPlus value. The ingredients list isn't exactly "natural" in fact, if you're not into chemical-sounding names, you probably won't be a fan of this.

As I mentioned before, I purchased this meal for $2.50, and would certainly buy it again. It's really tasty, has less than 300 calories, and a generous amount of protein.

Weight Watchers Smart Ones Thai Style Chicken & Rice Noodles Review

Weight Watchers Smart Ones Thai Style Chicken & Noodles

Get ready for a lot of Frozen Dinner Reviews, because I think I picked up one of everything from my local grocery store a few nights ago. I love when companies try to have more exotic flavors, so one of the 1st products I tried from my haul was Weight Watchers Smart Ones Thai Style Chicken & Rice Noodles.

NUTRITION FACTS
Serving Size: 1 entree (260 grams)
Calories: 260
Total Fat: 4 grams, 6%
Saturated Fat: 0.5 grams, 4%
Sodium: 620 mg, 26%
Carbohydrates: 42 grams
Fiber: 2 grams, 8%
Sugars: 10 grams
Protein: 15 grams

The prep directions said to microwave for 4 minutes 30 seconds, which is what I did. I was actually very pleasantly surprised by how good this meal was. It's simple - rice noodles, carrots & chicken in a "Thai style" sauce - and in this case, the simplicity paid off. There small chunks of chicken provided was quite plentiful, and it was well saturated with in a brown sauce. Loved the sauce - not as sweet and creamy as I expected (or dreaded), and when everything was mixed together, the sauce was the glue was what made the dish pop. It was flavorful with a hint of pepper after a few mouthfuls. The rice noodles on their own were quite bland - as all rice noodles are, so make sure to really mix everything together. The matchstick size carrots actually remained quite firm even after 4 minutes in the microwave, and they added a nice crunch to the meal.

I had this for dinner, but the 255 gram entree looked a wee bit small, so I added a side of Pictsweet Steam'ables Baby Sugar Snap Peas, which rounded out the meal nicely.

Coupons.com

Each Weight Watchers Smart Ones Thai Style Chicken & Noodles entree (260 grams) provides 260 calories from 4 grams of total fat (6% of the daily value), 0.5 grams of which is saturated (4% of the DV), 620 mg sodium (26% of the DV), 2 grams of fiber, 10 grams of sugars and 15 grams of protein. This has a 7 PointsPlus value, and the ingredients list, although lengthy, is mostly filled with recognizable ingredients.

I purchased this on sale for $2.50 and would definitely buy this again. It makes a tasty lunch and can be part of a really nice dinner. Another tasty Thai style frozen dinner option is Helen's Kitchen Thai Yellow Curry (Review).

Weight Watchers White Chocolate Raspberry Non-Fat Yogurt Review

Weight Watchers White Chocolate Raspberry Non-fat Yogurt

Weight Watchers White Chocolate Raspberry Non-Fat Yogurt is described on their website as, "Smooth, rich white chocolate yogurt with a tangy burst of ripe raspberry. Perfect for anytime you're in the mood for a sweet treat."

NUTRITION FACTS
Serving Size: 1 cup (170 grams)
Calories: 100
Total Fat: 0%
Saturated Fat: 0%
Sodium: 120 mg, 5%
Carbohydrates: 16 grams
Fiber: 3 grams, 12%
Sugars:11 grams
Protein: 6 grams

When I first tasted this yogurt I thought to myself that there was a hint of something there that I just couldn't identify, but it seemed so familiar. Then I looked at the container and remember that this was not just plain raspberry - but white chocolate raspberry - and that's when I realized that I was getting a nice hint of chocolate along with the berry bits - not a tangy burst of ripe raspberry as the description from the website mentions, but something more sweet and subtle. Overall I liked the delicate, well balanced flavors in this yogurt.

Each 6 ounce container of Weight Watchers White Chocolate Raspberry Non-fat Yogurt provides 100 calories, no fat, 120 mg sodium (5% of the DV), 3 grams of fiber, 11 grams of sugars and 6 grams of protein. The sweeteners used are crystalline fructose and sucralose.

Coupons.com

The ingredient list includes, "skim milk, raspberry puree, crystalline fructose, corn starch-modified, inulin fiber, whey protein concentrate, Kosher gelatin, natural white chocolate raspberry flavor, sucralose, citric acid, cinnamon, nutmeg, tricalcium phosphate, potassium sorbate (to maintain freshness), red 40, blue 1, sodium citrate, vitamin A Palmitate and Vitamin D3. Also contains: L. Acidophilus and Bulgaricus, Bifidobacterium SP. and S. Thermophilus."

I bought the 6 ounce container at my local grocery store on sale for $0.50 and although I prefer Weight Watchers Apple Pie a la Mode Non-fat Yogurt, I would still buy this again because it's pretty good - and variety is the spice of life.

Weight Watchers Apple Pie a la Mode Non-fat Yogurt Review

Weight Watchers Apple Pie a La Mode Yogurt

Weight Watchers Apple Pie a la Mode Yogurt is described on their website as having a flavor of, "mouth-watering apple pie with a hint of cinnamon, topped off with the creamy rich taste of vanilla ice cream. Enjoy dessert and skip the crumbs with this delicious, nonfat yogurt treat."

NUTRITION FACTS
Serving Size: 1 cup (170 grams)
Calories: 100
Total Fat: 0%
Saturated Fat: 0%
Sodium: 120 mg, 5%
Carbohydrates: 16 grams
Fiber: 3 grams, 12%
Sugars:11 grams
Protein: 6 grams

There are not too many Weight Watchers yogurts that I really enjoy - most are okay - but nothing special. This one however, is in the memorable category. Although vanilla ice cream did not come to mind when I was eating this, I certainly tasted the sweet, dominant apple pie flavor and it was good. There were even little bits of apple pieces in the yogurt and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The only thing is that after about half the container, the sweetness became a little too much for me - don't get me wrong - I certainly finished my serving, but I can see how this one might be a little too sweet to some.

Each 6 ounce container of Weight Watchers Apple Pie a la Mode Non-fat Yogurt provides 100 calories, no fat, 120 mg sodium (5% of the DV), 3 grams of fiber, 11 grams of sugars and 6 grams of protein. The sweeteners used are crystalline fructose and sucralose.

The ingredient list includes, "skim milk, apples, crystalline fructose, corn starch-modified, inulin fiber, whey protein concentrate, Kosher gelatin, natural apple pie a la mode flavor, sucralose, citric acid, cinnamon, nutmeg, tricalcium phosphate, potassium sorbate (to maintain freshness), sodium citrate, vitamin A Palmitate and Vitamin D3. Also contains: L. Acidophilus and Bulgaricus, Bifidobacterium SP. and S. Thermophilus."

I bought the 6 ounce container at my local grocery store on sale for $0.50 and I would buy it again - as you can see from the picture, I got my scoop on with some apple slices - and this made a very filling snack. Throw in less than a handful of Health Valley Granola, and you might start having this every day.

Weight Watchers Jalapeno Cheese Wedges Review

Weight Watchers Jalapeno Cheese Product

I'm loving the new look of Weight Watchers products, and have been trying a few more of their products lately, including the Weight Watchers Jalapeno Cheese Wedges ... or rather Pasteurized Process Cheese Product. These 1 Point wonders are described as, "a bold and spicy flavor guaranteed to amp up your snack, NOT your PointsPlus value!"

NUTRITION FACTS
Serving Size: 1 wedge (19 grams)
Calories: 30
Total Fat: 1.5 grams, 2%
Saturated Fat: 1 gram, 5%
Sodium: 240 mg, 10%
Carbohydrates: 2 grams
Fiber: 1 gram, 4%
Sugars: < 1 gram
Protein: 2 grams

When I was spreading the cheese on the cracker, I only saw one or two little dots of spice, so I didn't think it would be spicy. But surprise, surprise. These wedges have quite a little kick to them - not too intense, but instead, a nice mellow but noticeable heat. I spread this all over some Kashi TLC Pita Crisps - and it was oh so yummy! Definitely competition to Laughing Cow Spreadable Cheese Wedges.

Each 19 gram Weight Watchers Jalapeno Cheese Wedge provides 30 calories, 1.5 grams of total fat (2% of the daily value), 1 gram of which is saturated fat (5% of the DV), 240 mg sodium (10% of the DV), 2 grams of protein, 1 gram of fiber and less than 1 gram of sugars.

Coupons.com

The ingredients list - the reason why it's called "Pasteurized Process Cheese Product" and not "Cheese" includes, milk, non-fat milk, water, maltodextrin, cheese culture, milk protein concentrate, jalapeno peppers, salt, sodium phosphate, sodium polyphosphate, vinegar, sodium gluconate, potassium polyphosphate, potassium chloride, calcium propionate (preservative), calcium chloride, lactic acid, enzymes. Alas, Laughing Cow spreadable wedges have Weight Watchers beat on simplicity of the ingredients list.

I bought a container with 6 Weight Watchers Jalapeno Cheese Wedges for $2.50 - and they were gone in no time! So yes - I would get these spicy cheesy wedges again.

Weight Watchers Key Lie Pie Yogurt Review

Weight Watchers Key Lie Pie Yogurt

The Weight Watchers Smart Ones Key Lime Pie Review said the flavor was spot on, so I figured that I would try the Weight Watchers Key Lie Pie Yogurt to see if it was just as good.

NUTRITION FACTS
Serving Size: 1 container (6 ounces)
Calories: 100
Total Fat: 0%
Saturated Fat: 0%
Sodium: 120 mg, 5%
Carbohydrates: 17 grams
Fiber: 3 grams, 12%
Sugars: 11 grams
Protein: 6 grams

I found the yogurt sweet, but not tangy and it didn't have a strong key lime flavor. Looking at the Weight Watchers Amaretto Cheesecake Nonfat Yogurt Review, I noticed that the same "missing flavor" applied too (with the non-existent amaretto), so I'm wondering if this might be a trend.

Each 6 ounce serving provides 100 calories, no fat, 11 grams of sugars, 3 grams of fiber (12% of the daily value) and 6 grams of protein. Each one is also 2 Weight Watchers Points.

Coupons.com

I purchased a 6 ounce Weight Watchers Key Lie Pie Yogurt for just $0.50. While I probably won't be buying this flavor again, there are quite a few interesting flavors, like Caramel Spice Cake, Apple Pie a la Mode and White Chocolate Raspberry, that I look forward to reviewing.

As for a yogurt with a key lime flavor, other better tasting alternatives are Dannon Light & Fit Key Lime Yogurt and Fiber One Key Lime Yogurt, but both are sweetened with aspartame, whereas the main sweeteners in the Weight Watchers Key Lime Pie Yogurt are crystalline fructose and sucralose. For a more natural alternative, try Yoplait Key Lime Greek Yogurt, but this has more sugar - although much more protein.

Weight Watchers Smart Ones Chocolate Fudge Brownie Sundae Review

Weight Watchers Smart Ones Chocolate Fudge Brownie Sundae

Weight Watchers Smart Ones Chocolate Fudge Brownie Sundae is described as, "a low-fat vanilla flavored ice cream, over a chocolate cookie crust, topped with fudge sauce, and fudge brownie chunks."

NUTRITION FACTS
Serving Size: 1 dessert (66 grams)
Calories: 140
Total Fat: 2.5 grams, 4%
Saturated Fat: 1.5 grams, 7%
Sodium: 70 mg, 3%
Carbohydrates: 26 grams
Fiber: < 1 gram, 3%
Sugar: 14 grams
Protein: 3 grams

From my experience with Weight Watchers Smart Ones Turtle Sundae, I knew this dessert was going to be on the small side and I would likely eat both of them. I didn't.

Yes it's small, but it's just too sweet and there's too much chocolatey business going on. The chocolate cookie crust, chocolate sauce & chocolate brownie - you have to have a serious sweet tooth to really enjoy this - and eat more than 1 at a time ... forget about it! Even the sweet addict of the house - the 10 year old - said this was too sweet for him.

Coupons.com

As I said before, a box contains 2 servings of Weight Watchers Smart Ones Chocolate Fudge Brownie Sundaes, each of which provides 140 calories, 2.5 grams of total fat, 1.5 grams of which is saturated (4% and 7% of the daily value), less than 1 gram of fiber, 14 grams of sugars and 3 grams of protein.

This retails for $2.50 per box, but I received samples from the company to review. I much prefer the Weight Watchers Smart Ones Turtle Sundae, but even that is just so-so.

Weight Watchers Smart Ones Turtle Sundae Review

alt=

Weight Watchers Smart Ones Turtle Sundae is described as, "Low-fat vanilla flavored ice cream over a praline flavored cookie crust, topped with caramel sauce, chocolate chunks, and pecans." I got samples for the company, so one evening, I broke open the container where I found 2 desserts. I'm not even going to play around - I had them both - not because they are so delicious that I couldn't resist they're not), but because they were a little on the small side.

NUTRITION FACTS
Serving Size: 1 dessert (62 grams)
Calories: 130
Total Fat: 3 grams, 4%
Saturated Fat: 1 gram, 5%
Sodium: 75 mg, 3%
Carbohydrates: 23 grams
Fiber: 0%
Sugar: 10 grams
Protein: 3 grams

Let's talk about the taste. The Weight Watchers Smart Ones Turtle Sundae was just okay. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't particularly good or even memorable. Sure there's some a thin cookie crust on the bottom, and some caramel sauce with a few pecans & chocolate shavings sprinkled around, but everything just kind of blended together into a sweet concoction. I'm sorry to have to say this about Weight Watchers - especially since they were generous enough to send me quite a few samples - but I would rather make this myself, with an ice cream and toppings of my choosing.

Coupons.com

Each 62 gram container of this sundae provides 130 calories, from 3 grams of total fat, 1 gram of which is saturated (5% and 3% of the DV), no fiber, 10 grams of sugars and 3 grams of protein. Not bad at all - although like I said, it's on the small side.

I thought the Weight Watchers Smart Ones Turtle Sundae was okay, especially at around $2.50 per box with 2 servings, but it's probably better to spend a little extra on a container of low fat or reduced sugar ice-cream and create your own sundae. I would go with Edy's Slow Churned Cookie Dough Light Ice Cream or Blue Bunny No Sugar Added Reduced Fat Banana Split Ice Cream, drizzle lightly with Hershey's Lite Chocolate Syrup and sprinkle with just a bit of EatStrong Trail Mix. And I would still top it off with fresh strawberries - the best thing to eat with ice cream in my opinion ... and better believe 1 serving will leave me satisfied.

Weight Watchers Smart Ones Morning Express Egg Sausage and Cheese Smart Morning Wrap Review

Weight Watchers Smart Ones Morning Express Egg Sausage and Cheese Smart Morning Wrap

Weight Watchers Smart Ones Morning Express Egg Sausage and Cheese Smart Morning Wrap (points for one of the longest product names to date), is described as, "Scrambled eggs and cheesy sauce with breakfast sausage, vegetables and cheddar cheese in a soft tortilla."

NUTRITION FACTS
Serving Size: 113 grams (2 pieces)
Calories: 240
Total Fat: 8 grams, 12%
Saturated Fat: 2.5 grams, 13%
Sodium: 560 mg, 23%
Carbohydrates: 38 grams
Fiber: 7 grams, 29%
Sugar: 2 grams
Protein: 11 grams

As you can see from the picture, this wrap was very cheesy, and that's just how it tastes. It was pretty good though, although I wouldn't go so far as to say delicious though. The portion of 2 of these thin egg wraps was a little small for me, but I suppose if it's PART of breakfast, say with an apple and maybe even a small container of low fat yogurt (like Dannon Light & Fit Blackberry Yogurt), then it would make a filling meal. For some reason, I also couldn't get this to heat evenly, but it might be my microwave, so although the directions said to heat for 90 seconds, I turned the wraps over and put them in for another 90 seconds to get it all warmed up.

I decided to open up the wrap and get a look at what was inside.

Weight Watchers Smart Ones Morning Express Egg Sausage and Cheese Smart Morning Wrap

As you can see, the pieces of sausage are hidden, but there and I did taste it, but the veggies were practically non-existent.

Coupons.com

A box has 2 servings or 4 egg wraps. Each serving (2 wraps) provides 240 calories from 8 grams of total fat, 2.5 grams of which is saturated fat (12% and 13% of the daily value), 560 mg sodium (23% of the DV), 7 grams of fiber (29% of the DV), 2 grams of sugars and 11 grams of protein. The portion is also 6 Weight Watchers Points. The ingredients list is lengthy because, this is not an all-natural product.

I received samples of Weight Watchers Smart Ones Morning Express Egg Sausage and Cheese Smart Morning Wrap from the company, but WW products can usually be found for between $2.50 - $3.00. This is something that I could very easily make myself with less cheese, so less fat, and substituting Oscar Mayer Real Bacon Bits for the sausage to lower the fat and calories even more. For the wrap, look no further than FlatOut Multi Grain Wrap or French Meadow Bakery Organic Fat Flush Tortillas.

So I would buy this over Weight Watchers Smart Ones Morning Express French Toast with Turkey Sausage Review, but really, this is one thing I would rather just make myself - it's not that hard or time consuming.

Weight Watchers Smart Ones Morning Express French Toast with Turkey Sausage Review

Weight Watchers French Toast with Turkey Sausage

You've got mail! And in the package was Weight Watchers Smart Ones Morning Express French Toast with Turkey Sausage. I thought this was an ambitious undertaking as a frozen, microwaveable food product, so I was really curious as to how this would turn out.

NUTRITION FACTS
Serving Size: 126 grams (1 pkg)
Calories: 280
Total Fat: 8 grams, 12%
Saturated Fat: 2.5 grams, 11%
Sodium: 570 mg, 24%
Carbohydrates: 38 grams
Fiber: 2 grams, 8%
Sugar: 18 grams
Protein: 14 grams

Inside the box are 2 french toast slices, 4 small sausage ... bits, and a packet of syrup. I followed the directions to microwave, and the result was a pretty decent tasting breakfast meal. The french toast was slightly sweet on it's own, and of course, with the added syrup, the sweetness factor explodes. And the turkey sausage was like what a slightly smoky, salty turkey sausage should taste like. If you've ever looked at the astronomical fat content of sausages, you'll understand why there was not more included in this meal. The question I asked myself is, would I rather purchase this product for $3.09, or make my own french toast? More on that later ...

Coupons.com

The contents of each package of Weight Watchers Smart Ones Morning Express French Toast with Turkey Sausage provides 280 calories, 8 grams of total fat which includes 2.5 grams of saturated fat (12% and 11% of the daily value), 570 mg of sodium (24% of the DV), 2 grams of fiber, 18 grams of sugars and 14 grams of protein. The ingredients list is quite the lengthy diatribe you would expect it to be since this is not an all natural product, and this is 7 Weight Watchers Points.

This product retails for $3,09, so, back to the question, would I buy this instead of making it myself, especially since it's so easy to make? For me, french toast & sausage is an indulgent breakfast, and Weight Watchers Smart Ones did a good job of providing a portion that wasn't too high in calories and fat, but this is not something I would really be eating if I were following a "Weight Watchers" plan, or trying to lose weight. If I were indulging as a weekend breakfast for example, then I would prefer to make it myself. But as I said, WW did a good job on the taste.

What do you think? Would you buy this?

Weight Watchers Week 1 Weigh In and my Take on the "Free" Fruit

Week 1 on the new Weight Watchers PointsPlus is a success! I’m down 3.6 lbs! I feel fantastic and I’ve been doing great but I haven’t yet found my groove with the plan. Let me explain while answering the questions Dana left of my recent Do You Nibble post…

So I’m still curious if you like the new WW plan? Or is it hard to compare since you are have extra points right now?  Any thoughts on counting points for fruit when it’s in a recipe?

Well it’s hard for me to evaluate the plan after 1 week but I’ll give you my initial reaction. I am finding calculating points a bit cumbersome. Mostly because I still have the old points stuck in my brain. As for the nursing points, I don’t think of them much. I had nursing points when I started Weight Watchers 6 years ago so it’s a place I’m very familiar with.

It’s actually my own food journal that’s stumping me right now. I haven’t figured out the best way to record it for me yet. I used to use twitter I found it hard this week to keep up with it. Honestly, I may just go back to pen and paper. With the baby and my crazy schedule my computer time has been inconsistent.

As for the fruit and points, I do have my own strategy now. Even on the old plan I used to count all fruit as 1 point, regardless of serving size. This gave me the perfect balance between being accountable and not obsessing over how much fruit I was eating. I just don’t think we need to be weighing out a serving of grapes. That being said, on the new plan my strategy is this..

All fruit eaten solo will be counted as 0 pointsplusThis just makes sense on the new plan. If I notice it affecting my weight loss I may start counting them as a point. Fruits used in smoothies will be counted based on Nutritional InformationThis morning I made an amazing green smoothie with a banana, pear, frozen mango, and spinach (click here for the green smoothie concept) Yes, I used all 0 pointsplus fruit to make the smoothie but using the nutritional information it turned out to be 7 pointsplus. SEVEN! That needs to be counted in my opinion. Fruits used in traditional recipes will be counted based on Nutritional InformationBy "traditional" I mean cooked or mixed in. Like blueberries in blueberry muffins or mango in a stir fry. I have always counted 0 point vegetables in these types of recipes when calculating old points, why wouldn’t I do the same with fruits on the new plan?Fruits not mixed in recipes or meals but added on top will be counted as 0 pointsplusThink blueberries on top of cereal or meals like my Citrus Spinach Salad with Pomegranates and Walnuts. In these recipes the fruit isn’t modified in anyway. It’s not cooked or blended. Theoretically I could be eating it on the side of the meal.

Of course, my opinion may change as I continue on plan but this is my current strategy. I’d love your take!

Ok, that’s all I have in my tonight. The getting up every 2 hours thing is REALLY starting to take it’s toll. I need sleep. I hope to get into a better routine so I can share my food journals but right now it’s too labor intensive for this tired momma.

Oh! I did take a minute to updated my weight progress page and my goals page.

Gotta run.. I’m falling asleep… bye.

My Return to Weight Watchers!

My day started like most, with a nice big glass of water.

Since I’m nursing I’m really making an effort to up the water intake. It’s easy to get dehydrated.

I didn’t have time to have breakfast while Little Man was eating so after I got him on the bus I made myself a feast.

A 2 egg omelet with onion, peppers, ham and spinach with a side of GRAPEFRUIT! I seriously can’t get enough grapefruit anymore. They’ve just been SO good. After breakfast I cleaned up a bit and got ready for the big weigh in at Weight Watchers.

I grabbed a banana to hold me over.

The meeting went well! I purposefully went out of my way to find a meeting time with a leader I like. I weighed in and stayed afterwards for the PointsPlus informative session. I’m trying REAL hard to embrace the new plan. The least I can do is give it a chance, right?

My weight was what it was. I’m trying real hard to not even focus on it. I’m 30 lbs over my goal weight and 35 over my "happy weight." This makes total sense as I gained 50 with the pregnancy. I dropped 20 after delivering which I think is pretty normal.

To help me put it in perspective I’m 30lbs less than my highest weight. Again, it is what it is. I can cry and get depressed about it or I can move forward. I choose forward. :)

After the meeting Little Bean had his doctors appointment. I’m happy to say he’s gaining weight! On his 2 week birthday he’s weight is back up and actually more than his birth weight which is great! and gives me more confidence on the nursing front.

The Husband then asked if I wanted to go out to lunch. OF COURSE on the day I return to Weight Watchers. Ugh! But it wasn’t that big of a deal. I settled on some Miso Soup.

and sushi.

It was AWESOME! I’ve been craving some tuna rolls.

Once we got back I took a nap with Little Bean. This is becoming a nice afternoon habit. We cuddle on the couch and dose off until Ryan gets off the bus.

When I woke up I decided on a snack before before dinner.

Then I strapped on the little bean while cleaning up and making dinner.

I bought the Original Sleepy Wrap Baby Carrier and I couldn’t be happier with it! I always wore Ryan too but normally in those back back style carriers. Little Bean is WAY to small for them so this has been great.

Dinner was Beer Can Chicken, potatoes and broccoli. It was a FEAST!

I don’t know why I fear cooking whole chicken. They really are easy and taste SO much better!

Later I wanted something I could just grap and settled on this.

Very tasty!

Here’s the the first of my new progression pics. I’m planning on taking pics once a month like I did the first time.

I could be telling you SO much more but I have to get some sleep. I just really wanted to journal my day 1 as I figure out a new routine for myself.

My daily points target is 29 plus I get an extra 14 for nursing. That’s a total of 43. I was 2 points shy today but I’m not going to eat for eating sake. I’m totally satisfied at the moment. Especially after my pretzels. :)

Morning Weigh In: 176.4 — Official Weekly Weigh In: 178.82 egg omelet with ham and veggies3 Maki Rolls (tuna, salmon, california)1 serving (yes I weighed) of pretzelsConscious Activity: None. :( It was too cold and raining to take baby on our morning walk.

Note: The morning weigh in is my scale at home. Official is Weight Watchers’.
