Keep Track of Your Weigh with Google Docs!

After posting yesterdays weigh in I was inpired to dig up my old weigh loss tracking spread sheets and port everything into a google doc. Do you guys use google docs? I’m obsessed!

Anyway, I have my old weight loss tracker page but honestly, it’s a beast to upkeep and navigate. I love having the data (I’m a bit of geek) but keeping it in a nice, friendly, accessible format for the blog is another story.

Now that’s it’s in a google doc I can publish and embed it on the site. Look how cool…

I have over 7 years of data because I’m a dork, so I created a sheet for each year and accounted for the years I didn’t track. If you are just starting, it’s way less complicated!

Go to google docs

Click Create –> Spreadsheet

Enter Date,Weight and Notes in the first 3 columns.

Start tracking!

See, easy.

Now, if you want to include a chart which I find REALLY fun (cause geeks love data) all you need to do is click the…

Chart button.

Then select your data range using, choose “line” as the type and viola! Chart.

When you create your document it’s defaultly set to private but you can allow specific people access to it or make it public. Just go to File –> Share, to grant access.

You can also publish the spreadsheet and embed it in your blogs like I did here. That’s also found under the file menu –> Publish to the Web. There you can grab the link to the document or choose HTML and copy the code for your blog. The best part… when you make edits to the spreadsheet all you have to do is “republish” and your blog is automatically updated!

Man, I wish I thought of this earlier!! Let me know if you have any questions. This is how I’ll be tracking from now on.

Google Goggles aka Project Glass

Dear Google, skip the glasses and give me the long thick wavy hair. Love, me.

Did you hear about Project Glass?
This is an idea for a new product by Google. Project Glass proposes that you wear eyeglasses that are connected to Google. There’s a video online that demonstrates what that would be like and how you’d use these Google Goggles. And Google — you’re going to need to pay me 500 million dollars for that name. You can afford it.
Go to You Tube and search “Project Glass” to watch the video. Essentially the Google Goggles flash informational messages in your peripheral vision and also you can talk to your friends through them.
Google Goggles would be able to talk to you, get you directions to stuff, let you communicate to your friends and from the video I saw teach you how to play the ukulele while you walk around a hip urban environment. The video is supposedly…continue reading.

Google Announcing a Gingerbread Nexus Two Soon?Posted by: Thijs KootOctober 27, 2010The Nexus One successor rumors kicked into high gear last night thanks to a City AM article.  According to them, Google and Carphone Warehouse are are planning to release a new handset as early as this year.  It is said that this phone will release with Gingerbread and may not come from HTC or Samsung.  Naturally, everyone said to be involved in the deal (Google, Carphone Warehouse) are remaining tight-lipped.

Looking back at the last few months, we don't see much to indicate Google would try another handset.  The Nexus One forums are going away, the store is closed, and things look wrapped up.  On the surface, it appears it's all in the past.  We'll find out one way or another if City AM's intel proves correct.

Could the new Google phone, the Samsung Galaxy S2 and the Samsung "Google Experience" all be the same phone? That's my bet!

didn't you read the article?? " It is said that this phone will release with Gingerbread and may not come from HTC or Samsung."

Reply ›Deus InvictusOctober 27, 2010

yes May not, not Will Not. ie they think it wont' be Samsung, or HTC, but don't really know yet.

Project Emerald

Google learned that people in America don't want to pay full price for a cell phone but they did learn that they like unlocked phones. I am guessing a Google experience unlocked but subsidized by t-mobile. If t-mobile was smart that's what would happen.

S2 and google experience would be nice....

Reply ›RoToOctober 28, 2010

Then it could be the Motorola Shadow from the beginning of the year that was transformed into the D2.
