Pregnancy? Or Hooker Heels?

Pic via imgur.

So anyways, last night I dreamed I gave birth to a very large child — about the size of a 5-year-old. It was the most horrific dream I’ve ever had since last night. I refuse to get knocked up again. I ban extra pregnancies from my life and denounce it from the very depths of my uterus. Four dang kids is enough. No longer lending my womb like it’s a cocoon. My body belongs to me now.

And yes, I did buy me some sexy hooker heels last week to compliment the awesome legs I’m sculpting (pic coming soon). Hooker heels and pregnancy don’t match, which is why I own the heels now.

Roni’s “Pregnancy” Week 40

I decided to do a quick video today. Just an update on baby, nursing and how we are adjusting.

Totally kept my food journal today but I have to be honest, I didn’t count points. Long story, I hope to get into tomorrow. Click here to see it on twitter.

Oh! and click here for my latest Babble Post, A Bottle for a Breastfed Baby.

Roni’s Pregnancy Week 37 — The Birth!

I snuck in a quick recording session while the Husband was in the shower. We ventured out today. It was nice. Nursing is getting easier and easier and I’m getting a few hours of sleep in between sessions. I also snapped a few more photos. This one I posted on Poop Butterflies is by far my favorite. He’s alert like that about twice a day. I’m in love!

Roni’s Pregnancy Week 31 – The Crib

I’ve been a lurker around ronisweigh for awhile now. Several years at least, and I’m embarrassed to admit it, but I’ve never posted a comment. I recently found out I’m pregnant, and I wanted to thank you for the pregnancy updates. I don’t know any other pregnant women right now, and it has been so comforting to see you and hear about what you’re going through. I’m scared, and I feel alone, and seeing you gives me some strength and inspiration. I especially enjoyed your underwear comment in this post :) I feel your pain. I need to get some new pants for work. They are just so darn tight and uncomfortable. Thank you, Roni. Congratulations, and best of luck!

Roni’s Pregnancy Week 27 – 7 Months and I’m feeling it!

Sounds like it’s time for water aerobics classes! You know, it’s not just old women who take those classes and they all seem to have a blast!

Don’t forget how lovely it is to just walk outside. The cold, fresh air is exhilerating and you just don’t noice it so much if you bundle up appropriately. It may be “just walking,” but it may be just what you need.

Your skin looks so beautiful!

Roni’s Pregnancy Week 25 – Forgetting I’m Pregnant

Doooode, you don’t even look pregnant, you just look… not pregnant! LMAO You’re having such a healthy pregnancy! You’re growing just the amount you should. Amazing!
You know how kid’s are. They sprout in just a few days, so your belly will get that nice round shape, sticking out to the front eventually. But do keep in mind, I don’t think you’re going to get huge. It will be a normal belly this time, so my guess is that you’re going to think it’s too small, but it won’t be. I mean, they’re totally different pregnancies. I hope you know what I mean, I’m not very good at this english thing!

Geeking out, Cursing at Scrapers, the Husband’s Birthday & Pregnancy Brain

The title of my post pretty much describes the last 24 hours for me.

Yesterday I dragged my pregnant butt, head cold and all, to the gym for step class. I’m really having fun in there. I found a great instructor who makes routines that are fairly easy to follow and I’m getting good again. Those of you who have taken step know about the learning curve, "Ride the L", "Mambo cha-cha-cha", "V step", etc. It’s all coming back and I remember that satisfaction when I make it through a routine without messing up which is NOT very often.

After class I geeked out a bit doing a little maintenance on my sites. There are some days I want to get lost in code. I find it very satisfying to solve a programming problem. This time it was adding the titles to my GreenLiteBites archive pages. I knew there was a way to do it. It just took me a few months to figure it out. Now if you visit my All Recipes by Photo page you’ll see the title of the idea under the image. You can also mouse over but I wanted the titles visible.

You may have also noticed I added a top ad here on Roni’s Weigh. I’m not sure it’s going to stay there. I’m kind of evaluating ad companies at the moment so please bear with me. I only keep ads on the left and top so you never have to worry about them invading the content area or right side bar (although there may be a few remnants in REALLY old posts.) Earning an income from a blog is still very much a learning process.

Once I solved some of my technical issues I moved on to writing which in the case of this post was still a bit geeky. Over on RoniNoone.com I shared how I’ve been cursing at scrapers. A scraper is a site that gets all of it’s content from other people’s RSS feeds. Some of you may be reading this in your email or in a reader which is fine but for me to give you that ability I have to publish all my content in the feed. This creates a situation where others can steal it as well. It’s a common problem for bloggers and I’ve dealt with it forever but there are a few sites that refuse to take down my content. So I publicly cursed them out. It felt good. :)

Last night for dinner Little Man and I recorded ourselves making Deep Dish Crescent Pizza Casserole. It was SO much fun. I forgot what a good time we have doing our cooking videos for GreenLiteBites. This one was special though as I wanted to record and enter My Crescent WOW contest. There was only one problem. The video could only be 90 seconds.

90 SECONDS! HA!

I can hardly record a video in under 10 minutes so last night and this morning I spent most of my time editing. Editing. Editing. Editing. I went from 33 minutes to about 8 and then actually got it doing to 90 seconds. I can hardly believe it myself. You can see all 3 cuts by clicking here.

All this stuff I’ve been doing, plus the holidays has not changed the fact that today is the Husband’s Birthday! It’s a big one. He’s 35 today. I meant every word I wrote in last years birthday post and still feel the same exact way about him.

This year the Little Guy and I decided to make him breakfast in bed. We greeted him at 7:30 in the moring with a cinnamon bun, coffee and presents. Little Guy got him (and himself) a new Nerf Gun..

Which I think he regrets now… ;)

and I got him Inception. We were big fans.

I also secretly planned for a babysitter tonight so we are heading out for dinner and a movie. I made reservations at the Melting Pot and we are going to see the Fighter (Tron if we are running late.)

Somehow I planned all this even with "Pregnancy brain". Don’t know what pregnancy brain is? Here, I’ll give you an example. This morning I rushed to finish up the video editing before showering and heading to Ryan’s school for a volunteer session I signed up for. I was freaking out and running late. I ran into the school, grabbed my name tag at the office and rushed down the hall about 10 minute late. My son’s teacher saw me and simply said, "Hi."

To which I responded, "Let me guess? Today isn’t jump rope day."

She responded, "No, that’s JANUARY 21."

ohhhhhh.

So here I’m thinking I’m 10 minutes late when I was really 4 weeks early.

*sigh* pregnancy brain.

Or me just being a dingbat but I’ll blame pregnancy brain. :)

Ok, I’m out. I have to straighten up before the babysitter comes or she’ll have no where to sit. Yes it’s that bad and NO I’m not taking a picture. ;)

My Pregnancy Training Plan

I mentioned a lack of motivation in this week’s pregnancy video update and you guys totally gave me a shot of motivation in the comments…

One thing I have to mention on having a goal to keep you motivated: you a training for delivering a baby. Every little bit you do now will help with labor and recovery.
-Jenn

You mentioned what motivates you in terms of exercise is training for the next thing… You’re training for the ultimate endurance competition known to man… labor and delivery!!! Does that help to motivate you? The only time I’ve ever been consistent with exercise was while pregnant because I knew labor and delivery was going to be hard work! :)
-Valerie

-As far as the exercise goes, think of it this way–you ARE training for something–Labor and Delivery! The ultimate event to train for.
-Amanda

You guys are totally right! I just needed to look at it in a different way. So just like when I start to train for an event, I’m creating a training schedule for my pregnancy! Nothing too crazy but something just to keep me motivated over the next 4 months, because honestly, I really lost almost all my desire to get out there. It’s all mental for me. It really is.

So here goes.

Break. I try to be super active on Sundays in other ways so my goals is simply to make it Sensational!

Gym Day. There are two classes at the gym that I like. Power Flex and Step. They are back to back. Not sure I’ll do both each week but my goal is to at least one. I’ve scheduled the block of time in my calender and set it to repeat. This helps seal the deal for me.

Rest Day

Run/walk. Or maybe I should call it a jog at this point. ;) My plan is just to get out there. Cover 3 miles, whether I walk, jog or run. It really doesn’t matter. I realize it’s going to be getting colder and colder but I like the time outside. I almost feel I NEED the time outside.

Home Routine. See below schedule.

Rest Day

Boot Camp! It’s a pretty strenuous workout but I’m invested in this class. I love the other members. They all know I’m pregnant and I just go at my own individual pace. I look forward to starting my weekend with this workout every Saturday. Plus it’s right next to Trader Joe’s! So I get to grab a few staples while I’m there. :)

I’ve come up with 3 excercies that I can easily do at home. I’m thinking of doing it like a circuit. 3 sets of 15 each.

Kegel Bridges

A Kegel is the exercise most recommended for pregnant women. It strengthens the pelvic floor muscles easing some discomforts of late pregnancy.

Kegels are done by contracting the pelvic floor muscles (like you are trying to stop the flow of urine.)

A bridge is a completely different exercise that strengthens your core and gluts…

My plan is to combine these two exercises. I used to do a LOT of bridges. It’s an exercise my old trainer loved. They are non-impact and easy for me to do with my growing midsection.

Squats with Biceps and Shoulders

Squats work your glutes, calves and thighs and are helpful during labour as squatting opens the pelvic outlet an extra quarter inch. I’m not sure I’ll be squatting in the hospital but I’d rather be prepared to do so if I have to.

Combined with the basic squat I will be adding some basic arm exercises. Bicep curls and shoulder raises with 5 lbs weights. I like to kill two birds with one stone. :)

Here’s the basic squat…

And a basic bicep curl with Shoulder press

Counter Pushups

I can still do a few pushups but as my mid section grows I’m not sure it’s a good idea. So I’ll be switching to counter pushups.

That’s it! I’m already motivated just writing it all out! I just ate my yummy oatmeal breakfast (this to be exact,) put little guy on the bus and now it’s time to give my home routine a go!

Roni’s Pregnancy Week 23 – New Bras and The Boppy!

Running late today! So busy but I have so much to tell you. See an old post below the video from my family blog.

Know any pregnant woman? The boppy really is awesome and it makes a great gift! Click here to see one similar to mine, Boppy Classic Nursing Pillow with Soft Slipcover

For those of you who saw my feet you will completely understand this post. Well, I looked down today and notice the swelling was almost completely gone. I don’t have cankles anymore! I take this as a huge after pregnancy milestone.

I hit another milestone today. Bill returned to work and it was my first day home alone with Ryan. We had fun, although I’m not sure if he will remember any of it considering he sleeps about 18 hours a day. You would then think I wouldn’t be exhausted. Well you would be WRONG! When you have to wake to breast feed every two hours sleep just isn’t the same.

Ryan is doing really good at night and has already come close to sleeping 4 straight hours but, as I’m sure all the other parents out there know, sleep just isn’t the same anymore. I am constantly tired, with my eyes being very heavy. Of course there are times when I could be sleeping but I find myself just starring at him. I’m sure this will pass but in the mean time I’m going to enjoy it while he is this little.

Roni’s Pregnancy Week 21 – THE Name.

When I was pregnant w/ #2, we didn’t know if it was a boy or a girl, so we picked out names for each. We had Izaac picked out for a first name for a boy but could not agree on a middle name (I wanted a bible name). Hubby came home from work one day, walked in the door, looks at me and says “Izaac Jeremiah”. I looked at him and said “That’s it!!!” From then on, that was our boy name…so when #2 was a boy, we were THRILLED! It’s funny b/c we didn’t LOVE our girl name but it was the one we could agree on….I think somehow we knew it would be a boy. So when you both said, yeah that’s the name–reminded me how we picked out our boy name. :) Love the name! And you are still so darn cute!

As far as the exercise goes, think of it this way–you ARE training for something–Labor and Delivery! The ultimate event to train for. If I have a #3, I fully intend to work out as long as humanly possible b/c I know it will help me w/ labor and delivery and recovery. So maybe that will motivate you?? You don’t have to run….walk, ride the bike, boot camp, yoga, pilates–just do what you are comfortable with. Good luck!
