
I find it funny that the scale is creeping up again now that I’m back in my workout routine. I’m weight training twice a week, running more, taking yoga, even flipping tires up hills.
I feel fantastic.
Strong.
Fit.
I’m also eating more. Partly to fuel my workouts but partly (and I’m being REAL honest with myself here) because I feel I’ve "earned" it.
My nightly cup of hot cocoa has turned into a dipping ground for cookies.
That cheese I cut up for baby is taste tested. Multiple times.
I enjoy a handful of The Husband’s Dorritos while watching TV. Then another. And another. *sigh*
This mentality is hard to argue with in the moment. It’s a decision to reward myself with food because I can. Because I worked out. Because I "earned" it.
It’s rarely because I’m hungry.
So the scale reading this week is a gentle reminder to eat a little more consciously and stop the reward mentality.
